The irony was irresistible: a hedge fund named *Situational Awareness* had to sell its public equities after the situation changed.

2. **Match the financing horizon to the thesis horizon.** A ten-year idea funded with callable capital can fail in ten days.
3. **Separate business quality from entry price.** Great companies can be poor investments at prices that assume perfection.
4. **Stress correlations, not tickers.** Ask what happens when every “different” position falls for the same reason.
5. **Preserve optionality.** Cash is not dead weight when it prevents forced selling and lets an investor buy dislocations.
